The starting point of the tourist route hut " Ivan Vazov " , located on the right bank of the river Bistrica , in the northwest corner of the circus big wood lice . The hut was built on 2300 meters above sea level , near the Seven Rila Lakes. The area is one of the few remaining relatively wild , there are no roads and can only be reached on foot , but " Ivan Vazov " serves as an intermediate point along the many hiking trails in Rila.

The transition is quite long (about 9 hours) and requires serious physical training and experience as the majority of the route is not marked. From there it goes to the south of Mount Kalin ( 2667 m ) , in the beginning it is necessary to climb the hill Mokrishkiya . This is a sloping path, but Kalin waiting serious climb, because the tip is actually a double and both parts are quite steep . If you still risk to take this transition in winter conditions , you should very careful , because the slopes of Kalin often form ice that can you down into the abyss.

In the southern foot of the peak is nestled dam "Kalina" , the highest located in Bulgaria ( 2490 m ) . The route continues northwest slope is light and pleasant , and a great advantage is that far ahead to see the next goal - Polich peak ( 2615 m ) . This allows you to walk quickly and confidently and enjoy the magnificent views from both sides . Polican also a double top , but once you pass , you must begin descent to the south , which will take you to Karaul Peak (1981 m).

Hence the path splits and the route continues west to Mount Kalaijiiska Stone ( 1448 m ) . If you walk another path, will go down in the village Padala ( Rila municipality , province Kyustendil) . The path to Kalaijiiska stone generally descends fairly smoothly , but in places it becomes quite steep so you have to be careful . Shortly after the summit ridge becomes too narrow to walk on it and should be left chapped .

From here to the end of the route your main job will be to go down south . After a relatively monotonous transition interspersed only by beautiful scenery , you will leave a dirt road that takes you to the town of Rila . It is more convenient, but much longer than the alternative - the first sharp bend in the road west to continue straight on stony path that will get there in about half an hour.
