Skalishkite lakes, known in the past as Redzhepskite Lakes are two lakes of glacial origin, formed in Skalishkiya circus in the territory of Rila Mountains south of Mount Skalets ( 2678 m.) Located north of the town of Belica and northwest of the resort Semkovo - about three and a half hours of Semkovo hut . They are located one above the other . Greater area reaches 36.3 acres and characterized in an elongated shape . Located at 2,235 meters above sea level. Less is more only two acres , but there are almost round in shape and is positioned higher - at 2,339 m altitude. To the east is another beautiful lake group - Vapski lakes. If you climb Mount Skalets can make a beautiful 360 degree panoramic photo and see circuses Vapski lakes and Skalishki ponds . The view is indescribable . Be careful when climbing Mount Skalets . Accessible only from the northern part, where the slopes are gentle , south walls are almost vertical . If you do go the route of Potter hut to hut Fish ponds and want to descend to below sitated Skalishki lakes, you can do it just before the crest , which is between the peak Skalets and the peak Vapa .
