Ecopath Village Mochura

Ecopath " Village Mochura " begins at the end of the homonymous village, located 18 kilometers from the municipal town Rudozem. Its total length is just over 5 km. From Rudozem to the village Koritata , which is located 4 kilometers before Mochura is asphalt road and then continues on gravel. In case of need , tourists can obtain adequate transportation , if pre-notify the Tourist Information Centre in the Rudozem.

The route passes through beautiful mountain forests, which like islands in a green sea wood display pastures and meadows, offering stunning panoramic views . The area is one of the few still preserved away from the destructive effects of anthropogenic factor , making it a kind of representative sample of plant and animal diversity in the Rhodope Mountains . Here there are all characteristic of this magic mountain of flora and fauna.

Attraction for many tourists are still preserved frontier sites of recent past when neighboring Greece was ideologically opposed to the People's Republic. Eco trail passes near the gate of one of the former frontier posts , wire enclosure ( wire enclosures ) and at the end of the course leads to the tower (a watchtower ), which is now restored and secured. On it is mounted telescope and reveal amazing panoramic views in all directions, the visible large areas in northern Greece and Bulgarian Rhodope Mountains .

All along the trail " Village Mochura " are made convenient places to rest. In the very beginning, wooden table and bench . Around the middle of the route even among vast meadows is an alcove with fireplace, sink and toilet. The place is suitable for creating a camp .

The track is fairly easy to travel , sloping , no steep climbs and dangerous areas. This makes it suitable for tourism from early spring to late autumn , and overcome by groups with young children or elderly people . You should know that because of the boundary of the region have to carry your personal documents, some time before making the transition , you can call the Tourist Information Centre in Rudozem to alert the Border Police for your initiative .
