In the town of Shumen grew up and began his musical activity world-famous Bulgarian composer Pancho Vladigerov. He is of Jewish descent , born in Zurich but grew up in Shumen. He enrolled at the private school of music in Sofia, where he was trained in Music Theory from Dobri Hristov . In 1912, Pancho Vladiguerov moved to teach in public school in Berlin and the Academy of Arts there again. Interrupted in 1918 for his military service and in 1922 graduated from the Academy with honors . While studying , Pancho won twice the Mendelssohn Competition . After graduation , the young talent worked for a time in the Berlin theater " Max Reinhardt " as conductor until his return to Bulgaria in 1932. Occupies a permanent job at the Bulgarian State Conservatory for over 40 years and during this period are born geniuses produced the opera " Tsar Kaloyan" Symphony № 1, overture " Ninth of September ." Despite their affiliation to the symphonic music of Pancho Vladigerov is the author of many vocal music, rated extremely high .
The house in which he grew up in Shumen, Bulgaria's genius is now converted into a museum complex music . They are separated into two separate expositions on " Musical work in Shumen " and " Pancho Vladigerov".
The exhibition " Musical work in Shumen " presents in chronological order the development of musical life in the city. Covered in the famous Kurdjieva house , opened in 1984 the museum has a fund scores , instruments , photos from the foundation of the first Bulgarian orchestra for the performance of European music more in 1850
Museum complex " Pancho Vladigerov " has a chamber hall, which often manifest talent . In several separate rooms presents life and work of the composer from his life in Shumen , and visitors can even declare live music. House as part of the exposition presents bits in the northern city since the early 20th century , the rooms have been restored , the yard is landscaped and hosts a bronze sculpture of the composer.
Museum often hosts international music competitions.
