Art Gallery of Silistra, which dates from 1972, is situated on the main square , opposite the Drama Theatre and close to the entrance of the Danube garden. The gallery building , built in the 90s of the XIX century later " Art Nouveau " architecture style, was designed for teacher education in the city, after the First World War ( 1920 ) is used by the Romanian administration (up to 1940) . Permanent exhibition of art in the gallery is arranged in several rooms on the second floor . They can be considered works of Bulgarian and foreign artists and sculptors , among them those of Markvichka, Dechko Uzunov , Vladimir Dimitrov the Master, Zlatyu Boyadziev , George Chapkanov . In a separate hall with piano , including paintings exported chamber concerts . At the first level of the building is a room with works by local artists and the second - for temporary exhibitions. In front of the gallery is styled garden, which presents sculptures . Opening hours is from 9:00 to 11:30 and in the afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. . Doesn`t work in Saturday and Sunday. Admission is 1 BGN for learners and pensioners - 0.50 cents , and on Thursday is free.
