Art Gallery Dimitar Dobrovich

Dimitar Dobrovich is a Renaissance painter from Sliven , Bulgaria's first with an academic education. Leaving an inheritance to his hometown 14 of his works , it effectively lays the foundation for urban gallery bearing his name.

Early exposure is in " Zora" Community centre , but since 1965 moved into its own building , is named Art Gallery "Dimitar Dobrovich ."

Gradually, the fund has grown to over 6000 works of art - paintings by Bulgarian artists worked in different periods ( Dimitar Dobrovich Nikolai Pavlovich , Ivan Mrkvicka , Anton Mitov , Ivan Angelov , Yordan Kuvliev etc.) .

Two major collections - " West European schedule " of XIX-XX century - donated by Prof. Bogomil Raynov and " Japanese prints " of XVIII-XIX centuries, represent the foreign department at the Art Gallery "Dimitar Dobrovich" - Sliven .

In "Sirak Wanderer " are permanent exposition of the Art Gallery "Dimitar Dobrovich " - " Christian Art " and " Contemporary Bulgarian Art " . The permanent exhibition "Christian art" was discovered in 2005, it presents icons , prints , church plate , wood carving and stone sculpture from Sliven region, dating from the 17-19 century. The permanent exhibition " Contemporary Bulgarian Art " presents contemporary Bulgarian art from the 19th century to the present day. The exhibition includes over 100 works of art - paintings, drawings and sculptures . It works occupy a central position of the Renaissance painter Dimitar Dobrovich which marked the beginning of the art collection in Sliven / 1905 / .
