House-muzeum Dobri Chintulov

In the Sliven district "Deli Balta" is the house in which to 1886 lives and creates the distinguished Renaissance poet, educator and church figure Dobri Chintulov .

The house was built in the 50s of the XIX century by two brothers Ivan and Dobri Chintulov, near their native father's house. It is characteristic of the architectural style - open, asymmetric, double store building with wooden balconies and verandahs, elevated over a large cobblestone courtyard.

In the mid 70-ies of XX century home was completely restored and it opens exhibition.

With his photo-documentary part with the original belongings of the poet and recreated typical weather situation revealed significant stages of life, social and creative activity of Chintulov. The displayed exhibits, books from his personal library, textbooks and supplies have information about educational and community center work in Renaissance Sliven.

In the exhibition hall each year shall be a solemn ritual for entering the name of the grand prize winner for literature and art "Dobri Chintulov" on the special panel. The award is given to outstanding artists during the festivities dedicated to the day of Sliven - October 26 – Day of Saint Demetrius.
