The starting point of this sightseeing tourist route running through much of the sights of Sliven, is the monument of Hadji Dimitar, located on the eponymous square. The monument rises high, posing great freedom fighter in full length , and at the base of the pedestal are placed busts of other great Bulgarians born in the "town of a hundred chieftains". Nearby , on the same square, is built in 1831 the church " St. Dimitar" .
It is a typical Renaissance architecture pseudo probably the work of artists from Bratzigovo building school . Typically the years of Ottoman rule in the Bulgarian lands , the central ship is relatively low , which gives oppressiveness of the atmosphere. Especially beautiful are artistically crafted ceilings and ornate floral and geometric motifs capitals of columns. Creates a strong impression and the iconostasis , probably the work of a master of the Debar carving school .
From here the route track us through the city center to reach another of his symbols - the house of Dr. Mirkovic ( 10 Dr Mirkovic Str.). It is one of the most impressive Renaissance buildings and is a monument of culture. It houses a permanent exhibition " Old Sliven " presenting life here in the Renaissance and in the decades immediately after the liberation . The next stop on the route is "Sirak Wanderer " (2 "Tsar Simeon" Str.) . It arranged two permanent exhibitions - "Christian art" and " Contemporary Bulgarian Art ", the second of them presents the works of native authors of XIX century to the present day.
Nearby is the old elm tree, which win European tree of 2014 . Approximate age of the impressive plant is 1100 years. It is inextricably linked with the history of Svilen , and during the national liberation struggles Ottoman authorities use it to hang an example captured rebels in the area . Continuing with patriotic bias , we head to the Museum of History ( bul " Tsar Liberator " 18) , housed in a building built about liberation from Tryavna master Nikola Ganchev , a student of Nikola Fichev . In several rooms of the museum are sorted by a large number of exhibits, most of them are related to the liberation struggle and the development of the textile industry in Sliven region .
Final destination the route is near the Art Gallery "Dimitar Dobrovich" ( "Tsar Liberator " 13). It is housed in a building built in 1910 and declared a cultural monument. It showcases more than 300 works of the great masters of modern art , including paintings by great artists such as Renoir, Picasso and Kandinsky . The collection was donated to the Municipality of Sliven Professor Bogomil Raynov .
