North Park

North Park is located in the northern part of Sofia. East borders the stadium " Locomotive " , north of warehouse and industrial base as well as the shopping center " Iliyantsi " and to the south - a residential complex " Svoboda", " Nadejda" and " Vrubnitsa." West of the park is the " Meadows " . Kakach River passes through the park .

The park was designed and built in the late 60s and early 70s of the 20th century on the site of the arable land of the village of " Palm Sunday ." At the beginning of the forest part of the park is unique for Sofia sundial . Afforestation began in 1968-1969 , the trees are of mixed type - coniferous and deciduous , alternate different types of several parallel array. In the North Park there are gardens with flowers. There are paved paths, entertainment facilities , restaurants and more. After the southern entrance is a fountain .
