Route Boyana - Momina skala hut

To the starting point of the route is reached by bus 64 from the neighborhood "Hladilnika" . Directly from the bus stop in "Boyana " heads to the medieval Boyana church, famous for its preserved frescoes and a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage . Here lies south along " Boyansko Lake", which leads to the small neighborhood park, which departs from the path Boyansko lake.

The route runs southeast , gradually gaining altitude , moving in a nice forest . In the area of ​​Dry Peak trail heading south and climbing the picturesque wooden stairs up to the Boyana Lake. All the way from the neighborhood there is about 2 km away.

In fact, Boyana Lake is not a lake in the classic sense of the word. It is an artificial body of water formed during the construction of the Vitosha plumbing in 1906. Before that, his place was located waterlogged area supplied with water from several nearby springs . This, however, is of great importance , as currently Boyana Lake is a very scenic and attractive tourist destination, offering relaxation and recreation in close proximity to the stressful and busy Sofia . The pond is surrounded by beautiful mixed forests, which grow conifers , aspens and birches .

The Boyana Lake have to go to the west , the alley hut " Esperanto ", which climbs gently through the forest until it reaches elongated panoramic meadow Yanevitsa on which is located a stone fountain. Here the route continues south and passes at the foot of the impressive Pine rock with magnificent views of the river Boyana area and hoof . Path changes direction and heads west , reaching the area Drenska head where deviate consistently track lanes of hut "Momina skala" hut " Kamen Del " ( southwest ) and Boyana waterfall ( west) .

From Drenska main route continues south -southeast and reaches another fountain. About half a mile after it opens onto a lawn , whose eastern end lies the small but cozy hut " Esperanto " . Her path "Momina skala" and hoof deviates to the west , and only a few minutes leads to the hut.

"Momina skala" ( 1501 m above sea level) is well equipped chalet , offering magnificent views of the surrounding woods . Nearby there is a restaurant on the lawn near which there are chairs, tables and benches.
