Church St. Nicolas' or better known as the Russian Church is located at the heart of Sofia, between the building of the Council of Ministers and Parliament. It was built on a plot of the Russian Embassy designed by Michael Transfiguration (involved in the construction of the temple-monument of Shipka), especially for Russian immigrants in the capital.
Sustained in the traditional Moscow style, characterized by ancient northern Shatrovo wooden architecture. Finished in 1912 and was consecrated on 11 November 1914. The iconostasis of the Russian church is unique in Bulgaria - it is entirely ceramic, and a copy of Vladimirovskiya gathering in Kiev. The temple has two entrances - the south is from the boulevard and north - from the garden.
In the crypt of the temple lies a marble sarcophagus with the relics of - St. Seraphim Miracle Worker. For years people have flocked to the church to pray to the saint, leaving letters with prayers and wished Archbishop Seraphim. His wish was when you go in the afterlife people to say what they need, and it helps however he can. Today people talk about miracles that happen and continue to let their wishes with hope.
