Have you looked around Stara Zagora crossing the road from Burgas, what stands in the northeastern part of town? A monster resembling a flag, targets 50 meters high. Did you remember? Yes, this is Samara flag.
The full name of the complex is "Defenders of Stara Zagora - 1877" The monument was built to mark the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Stara Zagora, which was held on July 31, 1877 participated in this battle for first Bulgarian volunteers under the direct management of Russian officers.
The monument was opened in 1977 construction was built of concrete and Samara flag flown like a cross embroidered on it. The monument is 100 feet long and at its base in the ossuary were laid the remains of dead volunteers. Next to the flag can be seen statues of six volunteers and one Russian officer, who symbolize the 6 Bulgarian Volunteer Corps and the Russian command.
Visiting the complex can not remain impartial to the incredible view, which opens to the city with eight thousand history.
