Stara Zagora

Stara Zagora is an attractive tourist destination. The city is located the ancient Forum of Augusta Traiana. 14 km from the city center is a national spa resort of Stara Zagora mineral baths. For the guests of the city are 34 hotels, making it suitable for congress tourism. Stara Zagora is a large university center. The city is known as the Town of straight streets, linden, poets, beautiful women and Beroe. In the city is the oldest Thrace Bulgarian Theatre - Drama Theatre "Geo Milev". The city is famous for its beautiful parks in recent years they have been almost totally renovated. Ayazmoto is a park that extends over a considerable area. Before being turned into a forest park by Metropolitan Methodius Koussev, this place has stood naked and anhydrous rocky hill, but now is a place of pride in Stara Zagora. At the entrance of the park rises copper bas-relief of Stara Zagora bishop done much for their fellow citizens, and to top off a small temple, built at the site of an ancient pagan sanctuary, is his marble tomb. In the park is located Stara Zagora zoo - the largest in size in Bulgaria with a wide variety of animal species and Botanical Gardens with many rare tree species. Do not hesitate to visit the Roman Forum Augusta Traiana (near Courthouse), Neolithic dwellings, Regional History Museum, Memorial "Defenders of Stara Zagora" and many museums, churches and galleries located in the city. Each year, over two months from April to June is held festival of opera and ballet-largest in the country.
