Svishtov is the birthplace of the author of the current today "Bai Ganyo" and "To Chicago and Back". He was born on the first of January 1863. the son of a merchant who traveled constantly, was educated, but very strict and lofty chovek.Mayka he was humble and gentle woman of her inherited tendency to dream. The boy receives a solid education. Later, he worked as a clerk with the Ivan Vazov and Nayden Gerov. In 1981g.otpechatvat his first poem "Mirror" and "Why", wrote plays, and translations from foreign languages. She graduated in Odessa and in 1886g.se returned to Bulgaria. He began work at the Sofia District Court, but was soon fired.

The house-museum "Aleko Konstantinov" in Svishtov was established in 1926 during his lifetime the great Bulgarian writer gives his own house Svishtov municipality to be used for the cultural needs of the city.
