Price: Tatul is located 15 km east of Momchilgrad. The road there is narrow, but nice. There is a rare deciduous forest. When get to the village, there is a sign indicating that this is a Thracian temple. We also have a small parking lot. Go to a path among the houses of the village. The trail gradually becomes narrow forest path. After about 10 minutes walking you will reach the sanctuary. The complex consists of an ancient pagan temple and a medieval fortress. The central and highest place of the rocky peak, takes a grave with the east-west orientation, embedded in solid rock carved like a truncated pyramid. On the south side of the magnificent rock is carved a similar tomb, located in the hemispherical recess. The niche is covered with arched carved in stone vault. Leads to the two graves carved into the rocks ceremonial staircase, consisting of eight steps. In neighboring rocks are formed religious sites, steps to them, niche systems of furrows and basins to collect any liquid. It is believed that the sanctuary of the XII century BC Tatul sanctuary except for transferring victims of ancient Thracian gods must have been quite a center for monitoring the sunrise and the sunset on certain days of the year - in the winter solstice, as the rising sun has to come within the "sights" of a special rock crevice.
