The picturesque coast of Tyulenovo is located near the town of Shabla, 30 km from the border crossing Durankulak and 80 km from Varna, near the popular Kamen Beach. It is famous for its unique beach and caves, fresh air, clear sea water and its unique nature. No noise of the city, only calm and happy moments! For those looking for wild places and want to get closer to nature, here is a place to holiday, sea fishing and underwater tourism.
The old name of the village is Kalic kyoy ("village of the sword"). The original name is Turkish for Gagauz people (Christians of Turkic origin). The village gradually settled many Bulgarians from the interior of Bulgaria, primarily Kotel. In 1942 the village was renamed Tyulenovo because of the presence of flocks of monk seals of the type which just such a combination of surf, caves, rocks and low winds proved a good place for populating. Today, no seals, but you can see dolphins jumping in the sea. The shores here are reds, steep sloping at least 20-30 meters below the sea. There are amazing underwater caves, diving in which is a balsam for the soul of every adventurer with scuba. Tyulenovo is a place almost untouched by civilization, beautiful and untamed. It is great for fishing and extreme sports like rock climbing and scuba diving. There are a many kinds of fish and anyone who throw line, can be assured that you will settle problems without supper on the coals of the campfire. You can hire a boat from local residents and to enter into deeper waters to fish or walk to the caves. The coastline is perfect for lovers of tents that pitch their tents right on the rocks. The place is a favorite for climbers, as the rocks are particularly picturesque. Those who have simply gone to Tyulenovo to feel the beauty of the beach and not be subjected to extreme experiences can stay in the village.
