Residence "Euxinograd" is located 8 km north of Varna and is located 3 km of coastline near the resort "St. Constantine and Helen”. The complex was the summer residence of the monarchs who ruled Bulgaria's liberation from Ottoman domination (1878) - Alexander Battenberg, Ferdinand and Boris III.

In 1880, Battenberg visited Varna and was met at the monastery "St. Demetrius”, which was located at the residence today. The king liked it so much nature here that two years later, Varna municipality donated the monastery and its adjacent lands.

Battenberg immediately began construction of his palace, called by locals Sandrovo (named after the prince), but the project was completed in the period 1887 to 1900 by his successor - Prince Ferdinand. Foreign palace architecture strongly resembles the French Renaissance palace from the XVIII century interior is also impressive - spacious rooms, beautiful decor, stylish English furniture, authentic marble fireplaces, French chandeliers, clocks and watches with gold, rare paintings hanging on walls with golden silk wallpaper. In 1893 the palace "Sandrovo" was renamed "Euxinograd". The new name derives from the ancient Greek name of the Black Sea "Euxinos Pontos". In the same year to the palace was built and one of the first power plant in Bulgaria.

An integral part of the complex is Euxinograd Chamberlain Park. For shaping the park from 800 acres in 1888, King Ferdinand I attract French landscapers. The project involves the collection of rare trees - black oak to Atlantic cedar, which are the only species on the Balkan Peninsula. In bare and stony places bear fertile soil, taken mostly along the river Kamchia. Northeast of the palace buildings were built greenhouses for winter of palm trees and flower production. In them and in decorative nursery are growing over 500 species of flowers and over 200 species of saplings.

The park several distinct zones: Central (the palace), Greek garden, English garden, riverbank, beach and production business. Each is distinguished by its specific character and mood. The most elegant and representative part of the park space in front of the palace with a lake and a bronze statue of Neptune, came from France.

In 1891, as part of the complex, as a successor of the old monastery cellar was created palace winery. The initiative for this belonged to Prince Ferdinand, a plan was developed by a German architect. The building is a neat house in Renaissance style. It includes part of two underground levels, a host wing, laboratory, bottling, administrative offices and tasting room, and it measures as a small boutique production.

Wines from Euxinograd are famous today for its excellent quality. The winery boasts a good brandy and organizes tastings of their best products for their guests.

Another landmark in the area of residence are the ruins of ancient fortress "Kastritsi" in the northeastern part of the park.

Euxinograd is open for visiting tourists. Tour includes the historic core of the park with greenhouses, the building of the castle, sundial (gift of King Ferdinand of Queen Victoria), the chapel "St. Demetrius "and the building of the winery.

The complex offers accommodation. The guests a restaurant, barbecue and opportunities to practice different sports - table tennis, tennis, basketball, volleyball, fitness, bowling, water skiing, surfing and more.

Entrance to the palace is 5 lev for children under 16 - 3 lev walk lasts an hour and 30 minutes. Opening hours : from 10 to 15 h, on weekends and holidays from 9 to 14 h.
