Cathedral Assumption in Varna has become one of the most popular symbols of the city. Its copper domes with golden glow can be seen from different points in our sea capital and add to its beauty. The square in front of the cathedral is a favorite meeting place for locals and tourists. It is the seat of the Bishop of Varna and Preslav. It is open for visits every day, admission is free. If you want to shoot beautiful murals inside have to pay 5 lv. Cathedral has three altars. Central is dedicated to the Assumption, and the other two - the south and north respectively of St. Nicholas Mirikliyski and Alexander Nevsky. The temple is made all the Christian rituals like marriage, baptisms and others. The view from the tower is beautiful, but will have to overcome 133 feet of narrow spiral staircase. The temple was built in 1866. And its architecture resembles the temples in St. Petersburg.

For building were used mostly materials from the vicinity of Varna. In the 60 years of stained glass made by the large southern windows (the square) are depicted St. Cyril and St. Methodius, and the north are the images of St. Kliment and St.Angelariy.
