Dervisha Reserve

The reserve is located 20 kilometers from the town of Shumen close to the town of Veliki Preslav. Situated on the banks of the river valley as Dervishka narrow strip parallel to the ravine and was declared a protected area for storing and protecting the natural habitat of the only tree species "horse chestnut" in Bulgaria, preserved remnant of the former extensive forest. Has grown from sixteenth century, and today is in the Red Book as endangered species. Individual specimens of horse chestnut in maintaining reserve reaches 35 m height. In protected areas grow more walnut, maple, hornbeam, silver lime and grass cover is diverse species. To the east - southeast pumping reserve "Dervish" bordered by road - remains of an old Roman road.

Nature reserve "Dervish" is declared as protected area 20. 10. 1948. Near reserve "Dervish" are chalets "Bukatsite", "Varbishki Pass", "Madara Horseman" hut "Pantleyna" and hut "Ticha".

The reserve is a dam Dervish. It is located 2-3 km from Veliki Preslav. If you follow the blue-green markings on the wall of the dam, in the south, after about 20 minutes you will reach a magical waterfall.
