Cycling route Beglika - River Ka...

This very pleasant twenty-two mile route starts from reserve "Beglika", located in the eponymous area - one of the most beautiful not only the Rhodopes, and in Bulgaria. Its total area is 1461 hectares and was established in 1960 to protect the centuries-old pine trees that grow here. Not to be missed and the fact that the territory of the reserve is the only natural habitat of "brush ochibodets" the Balkans, and the only place in Bulgaria, which grows "alpine klinavche". 

The reserve is located immediately northwest of the flat watershed Beglika at the foot of Mount Syutkya (2186 m altitude). Closest town is Batak (fourteen kilometers) and altitudes ranging between 1,600 and 1,900 meters. 

Departs from buildings forestry "Beglika" and drive along the road to the beautiful area Gazinchev Mountains. Proceed past the barrier, only a kilometer after her route departs from the asphalt and continues along scenic forest road north, following the valley of the small but wild and unbridled river Karachumak. Although in all seasons it is very impressive, it is preferable to come here in the spring when you can really feel the primary force of nature. 

Should climb to the main ridge of the mountain Batak, which is reached in the area Semizki point. During most of the time, the slope is relatively small, so that the route is suitable for amateur cyclists tourism, which are not in perfect shape. 

In principle, there is no way to lose, but if it does happen because of bad weather for example, you can use a guide abandoned building that is Semizki point. It was in this building have to do almost a U-turn and take the east, on the panoramic ridge road to the site map. About a kilometer before it has a junction of the route goes south (right) and reaches a nice big time again where you should turn right to return to the starting point of the route.
