Ski slopes Freedom hut

One of the least known places for winter sports in the country is located in the Rhodopes. Nature of the most extensive Bulgarian mountain, near the picturesque village Davidkovo is a small ski slope , equipped with a lift. The place is frequented by lovers all year round - in the winter to practice their hobby in the summer - to immerse themselves in the beauty and purity of the Rhodopes. Here you have the opportunity not only to relax and enjoy the hospitality of the native people , but also to taste the traditional cuisine.

Next to the ski slope function hut Freedom . It is situated at 1,823 meters above sea level and is a two-storey building with 35 beds in rooms with 3 or more beds . Bathrooms are outside. The building is water and electricity , heated by solid fuel stoves . The chalet has a kitchen and the dining room , lounge with TV and games, kiosk. The price per night is 10 lev per bed . On request at the lodge you can be prepared Rhodope breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a menu.

Starting points to reach the hut , located in Prespa share south of Mount Momtchil are:

1. Village Monastery - 2.30 pm on a marked trail . The hut is reached by dirt road and / 8 km / only in dry weather . Transport links are given to village dormitory Monastery .

2 . Davidkovo - 3.00 pm on a marked trail . The hut is reached by dirt road and / 12 km / only in dry weather . The village is located 66 km from Smolyan and 11 km from Plovdiv , which has bus connections . On the main road Smolyan - Kardzhali , the deviation of Davidkovo is 35th kilometer Ustovo / Smolyan / left at Stoyanov bridge towards Stoyanovo - Bathrooms - Davidkovo . If you're a fan of mountain climbing, you can use hut "Freedom" as the starting point for the ascent of the nearby peak Boy or more peak Freedom . It is 1915 meters high . The hut can be reached by a new road, and water utilities to the top path with 604 steps. Climb to the summit takes about half an hour.
