Dry Lake is located in Kovachki share of southwestern Rila Mountains , north of the town of Belica and northeast of the resort Semkovo . It was formed on the cirque threshold just below the Middle Peak ( 2531 m ) to 2045 m altitude. Is very picturesque because it is surrounded by beautiful dwarf pine forest. Its area reaches 21.9 acres with a length of 175 meters and a width of up to 125 meters. Although it is called Dry Lake , it does`t dry up in the summer months . Rather, its name derives from the fact that there is no visible swelling . The lake is the endpoint of ecotrail " The charm of peat ," which starts from the resort Semkovo . Time you 'll need to get to it on this route is around 2 hours and 40 minutes. Should not confuse this with the other Lake Dry Lake, which again is situated in Rila , only in the northeastern part of the mountain . The trail to the pond husk passes through a forest of pine and spruce , which will be a delight for your senses . Then you'll pass right through the hut Semkovo terrified fountain and it will leave the marked trail to Dry Lake . The name of the tap comes from a local legend , which states that ten years ago a local man saw the bear here and very scared . The trail then takes you through the reserve area and from there to an old forest of white fir . After a succession of glades , overgrown with dwarf pines and grassland will reach its destination - Dry Lake . Nearby are several natural and tourist attractions that are worth visiting if you are in vicinity : Chernopoljanski lakes, Skalishki lakes, Vapski Lakes, Fish Lakes.
