Mount Karaulite, Donchovi Karauli

Curious to know about peak Karaulite (Sentries) is that it has something to do with MP XVII National Assembly . So the local population peak is known under the name Donchovi sentries . In 1914 Dontcho Zlatkov was elected Member of Parliament from the Liberal Party . This event , however, is led by long prehistory . Zlatkov chieftain and a Bulgarian revolutionary, participated in dozens of battles on Bulgarian territory. An interesting fact of his biography is that in the summer of 1901 during the Miss Stone Affair , Zlatkov attacked the detachment of Yane Sandanski near Troskovo to kidnap American missionaries . As sentries to the name , it comes from the distinctive and memorable views of the rugged northern slopes near the top of the massive Todorka ( 2,746 m ) and the fabulously beautiful Banderishki lakes.

Sentries peak is located 2,633 meters above sea level and located in the largest share Pirin - north , along the main ridge between the peaks Banderishki chukar ( 2,738 m ) and the majestic Muratov peak ( 2669 m ) . Northern slopes of the sentries are steep and rocky and steep and very jerky. They are limited by two bottlenecks rock cliff - near Mount Spanopolski chukar ( 2,576 m ) and near the saddle Banderishka gate. Donchovi Karauli is located in the most visited part of the Pirin Mountains - North . Passage of the first and last of the rocky cliff area is risky and should be done with caution.
