Route The Way of the Stars

This travel route connects the villages Zvezdets and Brushlyan (municipality of Malko Tarnovo , Burgas ) and represents the so-called "green corridor" , designed by association "Golden Strandja " in partnership with the Natural Park "Strandja " . The track is not very hard but has a relatively long duration (about 5 hours) , so this must be taken into account when the transition is taken thereon .

For much of the time the route follows a dirt road , offering scenic views and abundant tourist opportunity to get acquainted with the unique beauty of this is not particularly high, but very magical Bulgarian mountain. Places to pass along forest paths or cross rivers Katun and Veleka . The average altitude of the transition is of the order of 250 m , no major variations in altitude or steep climbs , so it is suitable for adults and insufficiently prepared physically tourists and groups with small children.

At several places along the route were built rest areas with benches and water sources so desire nature lovers can stay and spend the night in the magic Strandja . Along has a panoramic location , which makes it possible to admire the beautiful rounded hill tops of the mountains , cut by deep ravines . For the convenience of tourists a lot of places are placed informational signs .

Near the route of the Way of the Stars are a number of interesting sights. If you deviate quite a bit, you can visit the famous protected area Petrova Niva , located in the village Stoilovo . It is naturally fortified tucked away in corners of Veleka and is located about 20 km from Malko Tarnovo. Sheer cliffs that surround the area are covered with a number of rare and endangered plant species.

During the Ilinden Uprising in 1903 at Petrova Niva unfolding dramatic events . Evidence of these is the church ossuary "St. Petka " where are stored the remains of the slain fighters for liberation. Annually in the region takes place Laity folk singing.

You can view other historical sites such as the tomb dolmen in the area Bakaren spring near the village Evrenozovo . Also of interest are the caves and springs of the River Youth . The route is so comfortable and well laid out , it is quite possible to enjoy cycling , riders , people with a low level of disability.
