This is a tourist route combines various objects in nature and offers guests of Burgas very varied experience. It as a joke combines the traditional past of the region, religious heritage and innovative art styles.
The starting point of the route is the Ethnographic Museum of Burgas, located in the central part of the city , on the " Slavianska" 69 . Housed in Brakalovata house, a testament to the architectural style of the Bulgarian Revival, built in 1873 for prominent politician Dimitar Brakalov. On the first floor, visitors have the opportunity to get acquainted with the typical XIX century interiors of the homes of the wealthy citizens of Burgas. Attention is a place for women's fashion from the same period.
More noteworthy exposure to second floor featuring traditional Bulgarian costumes of all ethnographic groups lived in Burgas or settled here after the Balkan wars. Exhibited and festive costumes used during important ceremonies - fire dancing, Midsummer bride, Karakachan and wedding from village of Zidarovo ... During the summer months at the Ethnographic Museum organized a school for traditional folk crafts and contemporary applied arts.
Our next stop is located adjacent cathedral "St. St. Cyril and Methodius ", overlooking the homonymous square. It was built in the period 1897 - 1907 at the place of a small wooden church, which was only in Burgas before Liberation. The building is massive basilica with crosses. The main entrance is decorated with stained glass depicting the holy brothers. Cathedral was painted by artists Kozhuharov and Gyudzhenov worked on the temple- monument "St. Alexander Nevski" in Sofia.
Here go northeast Boulevard "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" , then continue north in the Sea Garden Boulevard "Dimitar Dimov" . Our ultimate goal is a park "Lake" , located on the southern shore of Lake Atanasovsko. Here, in 2008 conducted the first ever Sand Sculptures Festival in Bulgaria. Even then participate in the venture world famous artists from dozens of countries.
The festival is held on an area of five acres and creates the mood at all, especially the young tourists within the wonderful world of castles, sea and land creatures, fairy creatures, pirates, everything is sculpted from sand and figures often have impressive size. In the dark hours of the day the sculptures become even more mysterious, thanks to the masterful pasted lighting. With each edition of the festival, it attracted the attention of more visitors, as they recently reached several hundred thousand.
