Path from Elena to Kapinovo monastery is one of the longest in the central regions of the Balkans. It presents tourists spectacular views of the river joy and passes through dozens of places having emblematic importance for Bulgarian history.

The path passes through the beautiful valley of the river. Water levels in the Vesselina is relatively low because "Yovkovtsi" is located in the upper river and " captures " a large part of her flow along the river you can enjoy a variety of natural beauty . On places Vesselina form carved into the surrounding terrain (eg Elena hill ) elsewhere winds slowly through reassure forests or form beautiful pools suitable for cooling off in the hot summer months and year round fishing. Adjacent to Kapinovo monastery lies the impressive eponymous waterfall height of 7 meters. It is a popular place for recreation, there is a possibility for camping and picnics .

Kapinovo monastery "St. Nicholas " is located in the area in which Vesselina river out of the mountains. It is located right on its shore , about 5 km from the village Velchevo 8 km from Kupinovo and 14 km from Veliko Tarnovo. Nearby , just two kilometers , is located Plakovski Monastery "St. Prophet Iliya " because of the two holy sanctuaries are often called " the twin monasteries " .

"St. Nicholas " was founded in 1272 , during the reign of Constantine Tich Asen ( 1257-1277 year) . Initially, the temple was dedicated to the Holy Trinity , and was one of the most important religious centers in Bulgaria . After the fall of the country under Ottoman rule it was destroyed to be restored only in the XVII century. During this period, the monastery played an important role in educational work .

Until the Liberation cloister was devastated several times, the last was built in 1835. It plays an important role in the preparation of the April Uprising. Today the monastery is a complex of two chapels and church, to which are added several residential and commercial buildings . Of particular interest for tourism are old icons and frescoes were created by one of the most illustrious Renaissance masters , and wood-carved skillfully tribune of the XVIII century. In the courtyard is a well whose water is believed to have beneficial properties.

Ecotrail is relatively easy to overcome, but because of its great length to assess the time (an average of about 8 hours). Suitable for bridge from early spring to late autumn.
