The gallery was founded in 1962. It is named after Gabrovo born artist Christo Tsokev , the first Bulgarian artist vocational education , graduated the Moscow Art School .
Art Gallery "Hristo Tsokev " - Gabrovo is a modern and meets all modern requirements museum building with about 3,000 square meters exhibition area having a major fund over 3,200 works - paintings , graphics , sculpture, iconography , art and auxiliary fund.
Over the years, exhibited by old masters - Vladimir Dimitrov the Master, Hristo Tsokev , Stoyan Venev , Ilia Petrov and others. As well as samples of icons from Tryavna art school.
One of the halls in the gallery named " Japan" as thanks to the donation made by a group of Japanese artists - 40 - woodcut graphics .
Traditionally , the spring exhibition of the artist's exhibition dedicated to the Day of Gabrovo, Christmas exhibition , autumn halls .
Along with visiting exhibitions , the gallery hosts various cultural events - presentation of books, music nights and events, Chamber Music Days , Days of spiritual music in Gabrovo , celebrations on the occasion of awarding of various prizes.
