The starting point of the trail hut "Usana" , located in the eponymous area , which is the geographic center of Bulgaria . The hut is a three-storey building with a spacious dining room and saw veranda offering panoramic views of the whole area and the Shipka peak of Stara Planina - Ispolin ( 1524 meters altitude ) .
The easiest way to reach the area is by car or bus on 22 -km road, which links the town of Gabrovo. Between the two endpoints , however, has a tour route , making the transition far more exciting and enjoyable.
The route starts from the hut "Usana" and initially moves along the asphalt road .
Shortly after the road reaches the tap , known to tourists as "Grandpa George", the track is separated his left , take the trail marked in blue . It descends fairly smoothly on the northern slopes of the Balkan Mountains , repeatedly crossed the asphalt road from Gabrovo "Usana" . Almost throughout the route descends successively going through mountain pastures above the villages and hamlets Stomanetsite , Green tree, Malusha and Baevtsi (all located in the municipality of Gabrovo) .
Along the route , a number of views of the mountain . Particularly impressive is the panorama of the lake " Smirnenski " natural phenomena Moroveshki rocks and Bethany wall on which you can enjoy from the vicinity of the picturesque village Malusha .
Continuing to descend , the trail reaches the place that is split by both routes to Gabrovo quarters - if you take a blue marking , in which we have moved so far, we will find ourselves in " Hadzhitsonev bridge " and the green leads to "Nedevtsi . "
The route from the hut " Usana " to Gabrovo is of medium difficulty and takes about five hours . Of course , it is possible to move in the opposite direction, but you should consider that the length of the transition period will be extended considerably, as you will face a tough climb, which in places is quite steep.
