As more logical tourist route from Gotse Delchev to Melnik departs from the central part of the first of the two cities. Before you start planning this otherwise great destination , however , should keep in mind that its length is approximately 70 km in 3 days. The transition is not particularly difficult , but because of its length requires greater physical and mental endurance.

Of Gotse Delchev heads to the saddle Popov meadows separating Middle and South Pirin , in a small but well discernible trail initially passes through the gardens, colony and started relatively gently sloping ascent. Saddle is located 1430 meters above sea level, debt is a mile wide and 500 meters . Popov meadows is a resort area , prefer to relax in the summer. It is a starting point for many destinations in Pirin.

Here the route continues to the place of death of revolutionary Yane Sandanski, where he provided the first night outdoors. This should mean that you have previously informed by a reliable source for weather forecasts . The site offers all the amenities for an overnight stay in nature - lawn and fountains . However, if you are better organized and have more time , you can proceed to the nearby village of Pirin ( Municipality Sandanski, District Blagoevgrad)

It is recommended that the second day of the transition to become as early as possible , because it is then waiting the longest and difficult part of the route. In case you've spent the night at the place of death of Yane Sandanski, should reach the village of Pirin and thereby take the wide dirt road Rozhen monastery "St. Mary Rozhdenstvo ." The transition is not particularly difficult , but in contrast, is quite long . You can sleep in the monastery , the largest in the entire Pirin region and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and inspiring in Bulgaria, or if you prefer to stay the night on one of the lawns around it.

Rozhen Monastery of the town of Melnik water nice and well marked path that will lead you in the smallest town in Bulgaria for about an hour. Be prepared for strong emotions. In places, the trail is wide less than a foot and passes along the edge of some of the famous rock formations known among tourists as " Melnik Pyramids ." However, there is nothing that can be called " extreme " , and finally all efforts are rewarded by the beautiful architecture and nature of Melnik.
