Park Kenana

One of the favorite places for recreation, sport and tourism for everyone in Haskovo is park “Kenana”. It is located 2 km northwest of the city, near one of the villa areas and is the largest park in the municipality. It occupies an area of 236.6 hectares. It is created by project of architects Valentina Atanasova and Dzhubelieva. The implementation of this project has been done for many years - from 1955 to 1970. In the deep shadows of wild cherry, oak, linden, redwood, spruce and pine is a coolness and fresh air. In the park passes a wide alley, 3 km long, built in 1969, leading to a small lake and a zoo. The park is constantly updated. Some of his recent acquisitions are newly playgrounds offering fun for kids. Also new is the site for a skateboard, which includes three concrete and three movable ramps. “Kenana” is ideal for picnics. There have been special alcoves. Here is one of favorite places to meet with friends, glad you found salvation in the summer. There is no shortage of restaurants and outdoor. Besides these, there are two park-hotels by pools and spas. Near the hotels is located a complex of red clay tennis courts. In January 2010 opened a new covered tennis hall with ultramodern surfaces Greenset. The room will be comfortable training base for national teams in tennis. In the park is located the summer cinema.

“Grey water area” is located on the outskirts of Park Kenana in Haskovo. Here around a small lake is functioning a motel with a small chapel, tables and benches for picnic. Nature is gorgeous.

A favorite place for children is a zoo. It exists since 1958.. Later it was located in an area of 12 acres. Today the animals have been updated, and the zoo is certified by the European Union. Many animals are "adopted".
