The starting point of this pleasant but longer route is Krumovgrad. It is situated among the hilly terrain of the Eastern Rhodopes, on River Krumovitsa and has a population of about 5,000 people. On its territory there are found many remains of ancient settlements, as the climate is mild and healthy, and the soil - fertile. The city is connected to Bulgaria during the Balkan Wars (1913 ) when still bears its Turkish name Koshukavak ( race under poplars) . The most interesting historical and cultural attractions here are the remains of the fortress wall, the mosque " Seytlyar dzhamisi " museum, housed in a house that is a monument of culture.

From Kroumovgrad route takes us south to the village Surnak, which is located seven kilometers ( half an hour walk). The landscape is still soft and hilly, with transitional Mediterranean climate. The population is about 140 people. The trail continues to the southwest, and takes us to the village of Kandilka ( 3 km ), the largest landmark is the evergreen Thracian oak aged 120 years. It is unique not only in Bulgaria but in the Balkans.

From Kandilka, we head to the hut "Svejest" . It is located in the eponymous area of 6 km south of Krumovgrad and has a total capacity of 45 seats. Its altitude is 450 meters. From there it goes to the east and about an hour to reach the village Iris . It is situated 550 meters above sea level, on the main road between Krumovgrad and Ivaylovgrad .

On a steep hill with a strategic location Djenev near the village are found the remains of a medieval fortress. Here are found numerous coins, fragments of pottery and metal artifacts. Near the fort is a constant source of good water.

From here to the next stop on the route, the village of Cherni ridge, can be reached by a regular bus lines connecting Krumovgrad with Ivaylovgrad. From Black Hill by foot to the second largest village in Ivaylovgrad - Pelevun. It is a very old village, which in the past have lived Greeks. And his name is of Greek origin and means "old wood". In its surroundings there are a number of attractions - one of the largest medieval fortresses in Eastern Rhodopes - Lyutitsa is located only a few kilometers away, many small dams , Thracian dolmen ... Nearby is the protected area "meanders of the White River".
