Valyavishki Lakes

Valiavishki Lakes are a group of fifteen lakes of glacial origin located in Valiavishki circus in the northern part of Pirin Mountain. Located at 2300 and 2475 meters above sea level. Banks of most of them are extremely steep and rocky , which together with their high position, contributes to the growth of many squat beside them . Valiavishki lakes are very popular and frequently visited landmark in these parts of Pirin. About two hours away from them is the closest hut Demianitsa . Lakes maintain its water level due to the step set-up - many creeks drain from one lake to another . So give rise to Valiavitsa river . The lakes are home to no small amount of trout, even in the past have been restocked populations. To get to enjoy these magnificent Pirin lakes , take south of Demianitza following routes Bezbog .

Adjacent to the peak Valyavishki Chukar is the largest lake area of the group - great Valyavishko lake ( 2379 m asl ) - 85.1 acres . Depth reaches 18 meters . Second largest is the Lower Valyavishko lake located northeast of Valyavishki chukar , at an altitude 2254 m
