Beach Lilac Island

The beach is located on the island Lilac west of Rousse district "Dolapite" and is often visited by residents of Little Vienna and tourists. While it is inundated at spring high water of the river, it is very clean and covered with fine sand, which attracts many people here in the hot summer months. Is not trivial and the fact that you can find a quiet place to which to deploy away from the noise and stress, although you are only a few hundred meters from one of the biggest Bulgarian cities.

Lilac island is also known by the names Lelek and Delidoruk (the first means "stork" in Turkish and is the basis of the current name because on this place does not grow lilacs to this day). It is the sixth largest island in the Bulgarian Danube, with a length of more than four and a half kilometers wide and almost a kilometer.

The beach is located in the southeast, which is the most frequently flooded by flood due to high water spring in Central Europe leads the Danube. However, when the level falls, this place opens very nice and quiet beach with fine, fine and clean sand. Bottom is sloping without holes and whirlpools, and the water is warm and calm.

Part of the island (the higher western) are used for cattle grazing and agricultural areas. This makes access to the island Lilac easier and allows tourists to get to it easily. However, keep in mind that there are not any shops or restaurants, so you should take all necessary supplies and equipment with them. On the island there are no water sources, which is an important factor, especially if you intend to stay a few days in a tent and relax under the open sky.
