Ecopath Gramovets

Ecopath " Gramovets " was established in the Natural Park "Ruse Lom " in order to increase the popularity of one of the unknown rock monasteries in Bulgaria - Gramovets . It is eponymous cliff and a complex of artificial niches in the limestone rock used for chapels and monasteries during the Second Bulgarian Empire . Along with the Ivanovo rock churches and fortress Red, Gramovets is among the biggest attractions along the gorge of Ruse Lom .

The trail was built recently and consistent way that allows tourists to learn as much as possible full of incredible biodiversity and abundance of cultural and historical sites along the river. The route starts at the Ivanovo rock churches, 18 km south of Ruse , in the picturesque canyon of Ruse Lom . The complex is well known for its impressive artificial caves, carved into the cliff , and with well-preserved frescoes , something other rock monasteries in the country can not boast .

The route passes through the picturesque dense forest and reached the place where the rivers Beli and Cherni Lom merge to form Ruse Lom . In a well-defined road go along the river at the foot of towering cliffs rising hundreds of feet above the heads of visitors. Inaccessible walls of the gorge are the abode of many rare and endangered birds.

After serious , but at the expense of completely equal transition reaches the sheltered relaxation area , which were built shelter and fireplace. Along the eco-trail abound different railings, wooden steps on the steeper sections and small bridges , adding a significant dose of romance to the experience. From the foot of the rocky Gramovets be reached by a winding scenic scale narrow path . Entire length of the eco-trail is 12 km and travels a total of 3-4 hours.

The foot is built a wooden pier where the tour is completed with canoes on the river Cherni Lom starting near the village of Red .
