Back in 1955 a group of enthusiasts led by artistic director Nikola Krastev, the foundations of puppets in Rousse. The troupe was established in the House of Culture of mobile workers.
On 26th February 1956 the first meeting of small Ruse viewers with fairy characters from the play "Little Red Riding Hood ." On 15 February 1960 amateur gets the status of " Puppet Theatre". The troupe travels a lot , halls are overcrowded , but the actors still have their building.
Therefore date 1st June 1965 will remain memorable in the history of theater. On this day, with the show " Golden Girl " officially opened its own scene of puppet theater. Located near the Danube river , the building is a monument of culture ( built in the time of Midhat Pasha ) and is a favorite of small Ruse viewers.
During all these years the puppet theater has many performances . Apart from Bulgaria , the theater has toured in Romania , Poland, Hungary , Yugoslavia, Latvia , Denmark, Syria , Libya, Algeria , Germany, Russia.
