Lower you from north to south, the steep, strewn with countless bends Shipka Pass, a glittering temptation of real gold will entice your eyes at the foot of the mountain. Radiant domes of the church Memorial Nativity (aka Shipka Monastery) and silver-tongued sound of its 17 bells solemnly proclaim and call for letting well-deserved tribute to the heroism, created on this earth more than 130 years. Impressive, proudly upright and grand - the temple is the undisputed masterpiece of architectural art and the building evokes a spontaneous excitement and admiration. The temple was officially opened on September 27, 1902 in the presence of the Russian army generals and many honorary guests. The huge bells, the largest of which weighs 12 tons, were cast in the area of ​​collected cartridges. The opening and dedication of the church coincided with the 25 anniversary of the Shipka battles. The church has a central dome and four smaller bulbs and with gilt crosses. The west facade is attached pointed bell tower with 17 bells, high 53 m. On the interior walls and arcade galleries are placed outside 34 marble plates with the names of 8,491 officers, soldiers and volunteers who died during the Russo-Turkish War. The complex is formed by the Church, monastic enclosure, pilgrimage building, shelter and seminaries.
