Route Shiroka luka - Smolyan lakes

The starting point of the route is a village Shiroka luka ( Smolyan Municipality ), which is an architectural and folklore reserve because of its rich traditional heritage . Shiroka lukais known for its authentic Rhodope architecture , the church " Assumption ", built in 1834 and folk music, accompanied by a bagpipe performance .

From the village goes to the resort " Pamporovo " . After half an hour the route takes us to the bridge over the river Shirokolushka , where it turns right . Here continue along the right bank of one of the tributaries of the river Shirokolushka - colt and reaches a protected landmark " Summer Forest ", which is designed to protect the spruce- fir trees growing in the area.

After about fifteen minutes the route takes us to the fountain called Gergana (or Ezmoto ) , which is built near the recreation area . The road continues to climb sloping upward and reaches a new fountain , left, down the slope , visible neighborhood Grashtitsa of Shiroka luka.

After about half an hour to reach the road, what a magnificent panoramic view of the southern Rhodope Mountains . Southwest face Kuzuyatak peak ( 2109 m ) and Bear Ridge kaba . To the west are the mighty peaks Turlata ( 1824 m ) and Shirokolushki glacier ( 2188 m ) . To the east is located above Stoikite panoramic area Livaditsa whose name suggests that it is covered with extensive lawns. A little further south are the Rhodope Black Peak ( 1845 m ) and the height wizard, where you still can see the ruins of the fortress of the Second Bulgarian Empire .

This track is separated from the asphalt road and crosses the aforementioned Livaditsa . Shortly after the end of the alpine pasture trail begins to climb gently along a dirt road and after a little more than half an hour reaches Kabata . Hence lasts another dirt road that leads to the east and soon reached the Pass .

From Prevala route takes about fifteen minutes along the road to Smolyan while to get to the river area curve . After about half an hour to the first Smolyan Lakes as halfway is located holiday house "Dream" . Just a few minutes later, well-shaped path and displayed next to the cabin " Smolyan Lakes " ( 1526 m ) , adjacent to which are three of the lakes , including the deepest of all - Mutnoto ( 4.5 m ) . The largest lake is Bistroto lakes (10 acres).
