For one location for people who live in it can be judged primarily by churches and schools located there. In this thought a great deal of truth and that truth was one of the reasons we have today Sofia "St. Seven Saints. "

Church St. Seven Saints "in 1900 year was "Kodja Dervis Mehmed-Pashova mosque" or "Imaret mosque. Older Sofians know such as " Black mosque ". Seven Saints Church is a Bulgarian Orthodox church in 1903. Located in the center of Sofia, in the garden lying between King Street Shishman, Graf Ignatiev Street, Street on September 6 and General Parensov street.

The building was built on the orders of the Sultan in 1528 as a mosque on the property of the Rila Monastery. Earthquake in the XIX century minaret of the mosque fell and it was abandoned. After the liberation of Bulgaria in 1878 the building was turned into a military warehouse, and later in prison. During excavations in 1901 found remains of an old Christian church from V-VI century and more old sanctuary of Asclepius. Between 1901 and 1903 the building was converted into a church that was consecrated on July 27, 1903. Dostroeni are corner domes, bell tower and narthex. The iconostasis in the church is the work of Debar master. Remarkable is the clock on the western facade, made in the 30 years of the twentieth century. It's a rare item, un-Bulgarian church architecture.
