Art Gallery Varna

Art Gallery - Varna, former Male High School, is one of the most remarkable architectural monuments. Her romantic building in the Gothic style in the late nineteenth century, located in the city center, the wonderful space of its many rooms, internal and external courtyards provide a suitable atmosphere for the implementation of important and highly valuable artistic events of life, and extensive Exposure to any exhibitions to realize performances, theater, concerts, shows and more.

The second and third floors of the gallery are displayed in a permanent exhibition of the works of painting, sculpture and graphics selected by its own fund. It presents the development of Bulgarian art from the early twentieth century to the contemporary art events: from painting and sculpture of academic realism, impressionism and symbolism in "The movement of native art" and "New Artists" from the twenties and thirties of the last century to figuratism, neo-expressionism, abstractionism and postmodernism from the 60s to the 90s. In the permanent exhibition includes separate collections of Bulgarian classics and unique works of Dutch portrait painting of the seventeenth century, which was donated to the gallery. Strong emphasis in the work of the gallery is presenting exhibitions with foreign cultural institutes, embassies and galleries. The gallery is held and the International Print Biennale, which already has a history of twenty years and gathers participants from around the world, representing the highest achievements of graphic art. Art Gallery Varna is the main organizer of the festival natural center of the visual arts "August in Art", which represents an average of 90 of the most prominent Bulgarian artists and visitors from abroad. Most of the rooms are provided for guest exhibitions.
