Remarkable event marks the area Dragoytsa . In 2000, about 700 meters above sea level on the surrounding rocks , " Zaba " locals found a nest of black stork. Seen one of them , but unfortunately , next year the nest was gone .

Dragoytsa ridge is located in the Western Balkan. It has almost a rectangular shape, from west to east length is about 16 km and width from north to south ranges from 8 to 14 km. The highest peak is Mount Ridge is Nishana - high almost 957 meters . It rises in the east Dragoytsa . At the top are radiotranslatori and military sites.

The crest of the ridge is broad and flat , formed by Cretaceous limestones . North slopes of the hill are steep and reach Batulska River . Eastern and southeastern slopes are also steep in places even vertical . They descend to the city of Republic , in the region where by low saddle ( 456 m ) is associated with elevation Lisets . The west and south, where the slopes of the hill are a large part sheer , hill Dragoitsa reaches Valley Malki Iskar River that separates it from the hills of Bald Head ( west ) and Lakavitsa (south ) .

In the area of Dragoytsa , 10 km from the city of Yablanitsa is curious Bulgarian landmark - Glozhene monastery "St. George " . Curious about it to know that it was built in the XVI century , its architectural plan copies monasteries on Mount Athos and was a favorite of Bulgarian revolutionary Vasil Levski by hiding away until today. Near the monastery is the village of Big Spring, where he established the first revolutionary committee . If you have time to stop at the monastery , take the attention of the beautiful and unique Glozhenski waterfall.
