Buynovsko Gorge is located in the Western Rhodopes, among Jagodina and Teshel. It parallels the Trigrad Gorge. Through it passes the so-called Buinovska River, which has very clear water and places it to see how even small fish swim. Along the river there are many beautiful waterfalls formed and vircheta. Nature around is just amazing. Buynovsko Gorge is the longest gorge in Bulgaria. It is formed by the crumbling action Buynovska river, which over time has carved marble layers and created a massive sized natural phenomenon. The rocks surrounding Buynovska river are in places several hundred feet high, and at its narrowest part is called "Wolf Jump" - locals say that there jump during winter wolf to attack cattle sheds. This is only a legend, but perfectly clears that in places the gorge is so narrow, steep banks almost touching.
The beauty of Buynovsko Gorge is now available and the "bird's eye", thanks to clever and creative idea of the local tourist druzhesto. Facility "Eagle Eye" is a metal site located on the steep slope of 1563 meters high Mount St. Elias, which offers beautiful views all around. In good weather you can see the entire Rodopi, the tops of the other Bulgarian mountains and even part of Greece.
In the region there are also several hiking trails. Buynovsko gorge was declared a natural landmark in 1971 and is part of the 100 national tourist sites.
Buynovsko gorge is accessible on foot and by road which passes near the river - at the very base of the cliffs. The road is ribbon with a counter-movement - not recommended for heavy vehicles and impatient drivers. On the territory of Buynovsko Gorge is one of the most - beautiful and longest cave in Bulgaria - Yagodinska. She is very beautiful and even many couples get married in it, because there is a legend that those who marry in Yagodinska, never divorced. Very close to the cave is the Devil's Bridge. It's called so because it is located on the cliffs and say that only the devil can not pass on it. Near the cave is unique and beautiful waterfall Pruskaloto. These places are amazing and truly a feast for the eye.
